Robert S/ Goodfriend Summer Internship Fund Recipient
“Reflecting on the overall experience of the internship however, I primarily attribute the tremendous amount of independence and trust my employer gave me for my own personal and professional growth.”
My goal going into my summer at Urban Putt was to practice evaluating business needs in a fast-paced start-up environment and then act on those needs with data-driven solutions. To that end, I spent most of the summer independently pursuing projects that either improved customers’ experiences or informed strategic business decisions. My most substantial accomplishments evidence the pursuit of this goal. I identified critical revenue trends through an analysis of beverage, food, and golf sales data across a 6-week period; my findings informed restructuring of corporate event package pricing and availability. I created a framework for automating smaller group event requests through a system of Google Documents, Spreadsheets, and Forms. Finally, I reached out to numerous event planners so as to form long-term partnerships and ensure long-term sales.
