Project Description

Strong/Gault Social Advancement Internship Grant Recipient

“I am very excited for what the future holds as this summer made me just that much more passionate about my continued work within this field.”

I was exposed to a variety of nutritional issues and was given a wide range of projects that helped improve my knowledge and understanding of this broad field. I successfully now know how to measure the number of calories in a given food through bomb calorimetry, compile and review a comprehensive pool of science articles to assist with data analysis and journal articles, interact with potential patients for clinical trials as well as working to create diet approved food items. Furthermore, all of these experiences served to shape and solidify my future career goals. Not only do I now better understand the complex depth of the nutrition field, but I am also much more confident in my role within this field and my future career path.
