“I think what I am most proud of are the relationships I built with the people I worked with and the connections I made with the clients I had the opportunity to meet.”
This past summer I spent ten weeks working for FINCA in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. FINCA is a leading international Microfinance Institution offering financial services and products to small scale businesses in 22 countries around the world, serving over one and a half million people. My main responsibility was helping to launch FINCA Honduras’ new website. In addition, I conducted client interviews, wrote articles for the FINCA Honduras newsletter, and participated in a Village Banking training program. Overall I had a fantastic experience.
My biggest accomplishment this summer was finishing the new FINCA Honduras website (www.finca.hn). I learned a lot about web design and am very proud of the final product. However, I think what I am most proud of are the relationships I built with the people I worked with and the connections I made with the clients I had the opportunity to meet. During each experience I have had of traveling and working abroad, the most fulfilling part has been meeting new people and learning about new communities. This experience was no different.
