Preston Public Interest Career Fund Recipient
“The knowledge and skills that I have gained from this internship have contributed immensely towards my aspirations of working for the betterment of women in Nepal and the world.”
During the internship, I acquired several valuable skills including writing grant proposals, planning and executing non-formal education classes and communicating with individuals with traumatic histories. The opportunity to try to empower a group of women who have suffered unimaginably was the most rewarding experience and one that I will cherish all my life.
What I witnessed has only strengthened my conviction that women in Nepal are suffering immensely and that those of us who have managed to escape the fate of most Nepalese women must work towards making meaningful changes in our patriarchal society.
