Bowdoin College Alumni Council Internship Fund Recipient
“With the many new innovations and improvements in cancer research, I am very excited and optimistic cancer care will be an extremely promising and exciting field to enter.”
While contouring organs on CT scans, I expanded my understanding of human anatomy and physiology, particularly when identifying cancerous tissue from healthy tissues and organs. I also developed my scientific writing skills through the process of writing a summary of my research with Dr. Yashar (of which is still in the process of being published). Overall, my internship provided me with valuable insights into the internal workings of cancer centers and hospitals—insights that I find extremely beneficial for my future career pursuits of working in a cancer center.
